Green Gate Hobbies is looking for creative, independent and passionate individuals that can fulfill the role of Store Associate: Community & Events to support us in growing our brand. The Store Associate: Community & Events is responsible for providing unique and fun experiences by hosting interesting and engaging events for our customers that will make them return over and over again.
Responsibilities:
- Inform and encourage in-store customers to attend events that are applicable to their interests.
- Promote community and scheduled events of the store across social media channels.
Develop relationships with customers and people who work with various gaming communities.
Open to feedback, communicates well and takes action as required.
Communicate event attendance, prize support, and feedback to Store Management.
Collaborate with other staff members to provide fun and unique experiences for our customers through the creation and execution of weekly or monthly events.
Work with other store staff members for housekeeping duties that include trash runs, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and regular bathroom upkeep to keep play spaces clean and free of clutter.
Demonstrates the ability to teach all manner of games, primarily Trading Card Games, to a diverse audience of both small and large groups of varying gaming experience.
Demonstrates the desire to create and lead events for our customers and keeps clear and open communication with Store Management.
Desires to convert stressful situations into positive experiences.
Maintains a professional and positive manner when working with customers and other staff.
Qualifications:
- At least Senior High School graduate
- Must be able to lift at least 20 kilos.
• Knowledgeable in at least 2 TCGs
• Familiar with Tonamel, Bandai TCG+, EventLink, and BushiNavi (plus factor)
• Can help plan and create monthly event calendars
• Able to create post-event reports
• Can help share and promote events across different communities
- Excellent relationship-building, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Energetic, approachable, and community-centric personality.
- Ability to manage multiple activities and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic Computer/Software and tablet technologies familiarity
- Organized, proactive, and solutions-oriented.
- Maintains a professional, positive attitude with both customers and staff.
PLUS qualities:
- Background in hospitality, coworking, customer experience, or community management preferred.
- Previous experience with Tournament Software.
- Able to execute quickly.
- Able to grasp an idea and transform it into something meaningful.
- Someone who doesn't just follow but also contributes.

Available Schedule
Must be able to perform duties based on an assigned five-day work shift of the week:
- Tuesday: 1:30pm to 10:30pm
- Wednesday: 1:30pm to 10:30pm
Thursday: 1:30pm to 10:30pm
Friday: 1:30pm to 10:30pm
Friday: 3:30pm to 12:30am
Saturday: 10:00am to 7:00pm
Saturday: 3:30pm to 12:30am
Sunday: 10:00am to 7:00pm
Sunday: 1:30pm to 10:30pm
Expected Pay
