PRE-RELEASE: Chaos Rising (30 Players only)

What Is the Prerelease Program? #

Pokémon TCG Prerelease tournaments allow players to purchase and play with cards from upcoming expansions up to two weeks before the set’s official release date. The Pokémon Prerelease program is only available to eligible locations that are currently a Pokémon TCG Gym Store.

Limited Slots - Lottery System registration is implemented #

Stores are expected to follow the trainers web Lottery system for electing players to join the tournament.

When you get Elected:

• No prepayment required. Pay on check-in.
• Elected Players Check-in time: May 9, 2026 4PM-5PM
• Please be on time for check-in!

If you are Declined:

If you are interested in entering the event as a Physical Walk-in Participant, please take note of the following:

• 1. Gates of the store and the store will only open by 11AM. We kindly ask everyone to organize themselves in the best manner possible if anyone plans to be around the store premises before this hour.
• 2. To record your queue position, we will be distributing queue numbers - first come first served. Do not lose this number.
• 3. Once the check-ins for Elected Registrants finish, we still start calling for numbers from the queue of Physical Walk-Ins.
• 4. If you are not present during the call, then your number is voided and we'll move on to the next.

Running the Pre-release #

• 4 - 8 pax - 3 swiss rounds
• 9 - 16pax - 4 swiss rounds
• 17 - 20pax - 5 Swiss rounds

Tournament Pairing procedure #

We will be using Tonamel for this tournament

Sealed Style Pre-release Rules #

• The deck must contain exactly 40 cards.
• There is no limit to the number of cards with the same name that can be included, provided there is no restriction detailed in the card text itself.
• Matches are played for 4 Prize cards.

Deck Construction: #

• Players open their booster packs at a signal from the Organizer and construct a 40-card deck using only those cards (including any cards in their Build & Battle Box) and any basic Energy cards provided by the Organizer.
• Players have 30 minutes to construct their decks.
  

Prizing Guidelines #

Upon completion of the tournament, all participants will be eligible for 3 packs participation prizes.

Top Ranking players will get the following additional prizes on top of the participation prizes:

4-16 pax tournament

• Champion: 3 additional packs
• Finalist: 2 additional packs
• 3rd place: 1 additional pack

17-24 pax tournament

• Champion: 3 additional packs
• Finalist: 3 additional packs
• 3rd and 4th place: 2 additional packs
• 5th and 6th place: 1 additional pack

25-30 pax tournament

• Champion: 4 additional packs
• Finalist: 3 additional packs
• 3rd and 4th place: 2 additional packs
• 5th and 11th place: 1 additional pack
